In our group of churches we seek to follow Jesus. We are among the millions of His disciples in the world, and like them, we strive to live out the Christian life. We seek to fulfil the call of Jesus to love God, and love our neighbours, by serving our local communities. We invite you to join us on this journey of spiritual growth and community engagement.
Welcome to Wigan, and welcome to the Wigan Methodist Circuit.
The town and local area of Wigan in the North West of England has a long history of Methodism and it's mission. Currently represented by our eleven Methodist Churches, and the presence of a number of Independent Methodist Churches in the town. Our twelve churches cover north, south, east and west across the town and beyond to its outer edges. Our churches offer a warm welcome to newcomers and long standing members alike. In this time of deep divides and damaging insecurity forgive us for the ways in which we have failed to show solidarity,
and failed to see beyond the identity-based fractures that can obscure the bonds of our common humanity.
Renew our commitment to the work of unity,
drawing hope from the promise of your limitless love which embraces all in true belonging.
We give thanks for the courage and commitment of all those witnessing to unity in the midst of fragmentation,
creating spaces for fellowship and accompaniment,
to sustain us on the journey.
